What is this?
A boy is sitting in his Sunday School class bored with the discussion. Then he was asked an unexpectedly deep question. His pastor asked him, "Are you a Christian?"
To this the boy responded,"What kind of question is that? I'm in church aren't I?"
The pastor took the sarcasm and used it for his own point. "Yesterday I spent the entire day in my garage cleaning it. Does this make me a car?"
Most of us think that just because we are sitting in church week after week means that we are living the life that God wants us to live as Christians. But that's not necessarily true. Jesus told his diciples to be living examples to all the people around them. We should stand out as people who stand for the faith.

What started out as three teenagers trying to make a difference is now the Youth Group at Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman, Ohio. We are also proud to welcome Evan Daniels to the WUYM Family. We want to make a difference by making more of today's youth stand for Christ.
Philip Hall -- Confirmed in Christ: 4/29/07 -- "When pride comes then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. Haley's Story
New to the Wake Up Youth Ministries outreach will be "Wake Up" Your Life: A Life-Line for Teen Depression. WUYM would like to incorporate Haley's Story into this new outreach.Wake Up Youth Ministries will be opening their arms in love to teens struggling with depression. Through Christ and support help is possible. Many people go through the toughest years of their life as teens. You can e-mail us if you would like to talk to one of us individually, or talk to the group. The outreach is anonymous, and we will make it a point to reply to you with advice and support.
Directly above this, you see the phrase "Jesus Loves You". For some people, this could be a hard thing to believe. Maybe they just dont feel his presence in their life, or maybe they just dont believe. Some people didn't grow up with the stories of God's love being preached to them. But this isn't their fault. We need to show them God's love and not only talk to them, but listen to what's happening in their life and try to help with open arms.
The power of God's Love is truly amazing. You can see God's Love in those around you. Haley's Story is a story of how God's Love affected the life of a young teen. Haley's life was affected by her relationship with God in the most powerful and amazing way. I (Philip) have never met Haley, but after Evan sent me her story I was inspired and shocked at how much good spreading the Word of God can do. We are asking friends for stories on their relationship with God for our "'Wake Up' the Community" page. Evan told me that she really wanted her story on our page. I told him that we didn't have much space, so no longer than a paragraph. He sent me the story so that I could shorten it for the page. After reading it I realized that there is nothing that can be cut. It's one of the most important stories that I have ever read. I grew up with stories of God's Love being told to me every week, but none of them were as powerful as this. I wish Haley the best in her "new life" and thank her for inspiring me with her story.
