What Do We Think?
Why Listen to Us?
We may not be pastors, and we may only be teenagers, but we know a lot more about what we believe than the majority of todays youth.
Phil's Point: "During my eighth-grade school year I talked to to boys in particular who considered themselves to be Atheist. I spent a good portion of my time trying to understand what they believe and then in turn share what I believe. Many people where suprised at how much scripture I know from memory. It's very frustrating trying to share God's Word with stubborn people who dont want to listen to you because they know everything is going to be about God. But this is what we're up against. No matter what it takes it would be better to save one life than to give up on any amount. And it can be as easy as someone not wanting to give in on pride. I asked one of those boys if he believes everything has a begining and an end. He told me that he does. Then I asked where he believed the world came from. He said he believes in the Big-Bang Theory. When I said that the scientists who developed that theory are coming up with new theories because the Big-Bang doesn't quite make sense. His response was 'Well, then I guess it was always there.' After I pointed out that that meant it didn't have a begining and he said everything has one his pride kicked in. We aren't trying to be rude, but we want to understand what non-believers believe so that we can help them. Anytime I brought up the subject of Christianity after that he just ignored me and got angry. No matter what, we have to fight through this and bring the lost souls to God."
Tom's Point: "Like Phil I also talked to alot of people who considered themselves to be Atheist or Agnostic. Everyday I would talk to them about their beliefs and how they so differed from mine. I would show them reasons and recite various verses from the bible that reflect my beliefs. But more importantly, my point is the boundaries set by the schools and various jobs; boundaries like, not being permitted to talk freely about religion within the schools, they say that they do not want to have one set religion for the school. but rather than not have one set religion they get rid of them all. I think this is ridiculous. You can have no one set religion and still have people be able to talk freely about religion. Everyone should be allowed to talk about whatever religion they chose to follow and the schools should have no say in what you believe. My mission is to stretch the boundaries of the schools to their limits to proclaim the love of God to everyone."
Mathew 18:12-14
"What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that has wandered off? And if he finds it, I tell you the truth, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off. In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost."
Why Christianity?
Christianity is the most important part of our lives.
Did you know that Christianity is the most promising religion?
Here's why:
- God shows the most true love for his people. (John 3:16)
- Only religion that tells exactly how to be saved. (Romans 10:9)
- Shows power of our God and that we should humble ourselves. (Ecclesiastes 3:20b)
- God rewards his true followers. (Proverbs 14:14)
- Gives us Strength, Hope, and Protection. (Phillipians 4:13)
- God teaches us and we know its the truth (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
- We have doughnuts (Good Hope 10:45 Adult Sunday School)
And that's not all. God does so much for us and it's all in His Word!
